ED F601 Introduction To Applied Social Research, 3 cr. (Fairbanks)
Review of the most common educational research paradigms, data gathering techniques and analytical tools used in the study of human behavior and educational institutions. Attention will be given to collaborative research models, with a focus on the translation of research results into practical application. (Prerequisite: Graduate standing.)

A focus on the salient issues involved with the development of effective programs of instruction in small schools including foundational design, conceptual models, organizational strategies, technical skill, current issues and trends, and their implications and application to the environment of rural Alaska. (Prerequisite: Graduate standing in education.) Requires access to VCR. Meets the Multicultural requirement for teacher recertification.
