Admission to the EDL program has become increasingly competitive as the credibility and
effectiveness of the program has grown, without a corresponding increase in the resource
allocation. Beginning of August of 2000 we began a process of reviewing and accepting
students into the program during three time periods of the year (April, November, May).
The program examines a student's application in a holistic fashion, paying particular notice
to the rating sheet portion. Since the internship is a critical portion of the program,it is
imperative for a student to have a strong recommendation from his/her principal or other
district administrator.
